Start with a real need.

The three-pillar approach is a way to ask better questions. Who is affected? What already exists? Which barriers make everyday life harder? What could a local organisation, volunteer or specialist contribute? A useful initiative begins by understanding the context instead of assuming that the same answer works everywhere.

The pages in this section describe areas for conversation and programme development. They do not establish that every service is currently operating. Ask the team to confirm the location, availability, delivery partner, eligibility and any costs before travelling, referring someone or committing resources.
