Safeguarding & concerns

Dignity comes before a photograph or a story.

Participation should include clear boundaries, a responsible contact and a way to raise concerns.

Respectful participation

People should understand why an activity is being proposed, who is responsible and what information may be shared. A person’s participation should not be treated as automatic permission to publish their name, image or personal experience. Extra care is needed when children or other people who may need support are involved.

Volunteers and partners should ask for the applicable induction, conduct rules, supervision and concern-reporting arrangements before beginning a role. The organisation must approve its own safeguarding procedures and designated contacts; this website does not invent or certify them.

Raising a concern

If you are concerned about a website interaction, a published image, an inappropriate request or the way an activity is represented, contact the team with the subject “Concern” and enough information to identify the issue. Avoid including unnecessary sensitive details in the initial form.

Website forms are not an emergency reporting service. If someone is in immediate danger, use the appropriate local emergency or responsible authority. The foundation should establish and communicate its own secure escalation route before operating activities that require it.
